Do I have to speak Spanish to be able to participate?

You don't have to speak Spanish in order to participate, we do encourage our participants to at least know the basics but it's definitely not mandatory. Your interview with the judges and on stage questions will be done in the language you feel most comfortable with.

What to expect / What are the judges looking for?

A distinguished panel of judges scores candidates in the following areas of competition:

  • Personal Interview – to determine personality, intellect and qualifications to hold State title

  • Swimsuit (Miss Category) Fitness Wear (Teen Category) – to determine physical condition and mental state

  • Stage Presence – to determine elegance, poise, beauty and grace

  • Conduct - to determine punctuality, respect to others and overall attitude

  • Community Involvement - to determine how the candidates use their titles and platforms in their community

 

What outfits do I need to compete?

Heritage outfit

Evening gown

Interview outfit

Western attire

Swimsuit (ONLY Miss Category)

Fitness wear (ONLY Teen Category)

 

**There is NO talent competition and NO minimum height requirements. Weight must be proportional to height.

How do I become an official Miss Texas Latina candidate?

Our pageant is open to all Latinas who meet the eligibility requirements which are: never been married, no kids and ages from 13 years old to 27 years old.  You do not need to have previous experience to participate. We encourage you to apply, select the city you want to represent, pay your pageant fee and receive your official sash. 

How do I sign up?

Click on the “Apply” tab on this website to submit your information.  You will then receive a welcome email and phone call with all the information about the pageant in which you will secure your spot as an official candidate. Be sure to include the name of the town you would like to represent and the category (TEEN or MISS)

What does the entry fee include?

Official title and sash to represent your town, make appearances and find sponsors. Bootcamp with Headshot and Training Included. Fitness challenge motivation, a 4-week online program and a fun 3-day weekend packed with activities, photoshoots, interviews, new friendships and a chance to become our new Miss Texas Latina.

What are the judges looking for in the next queen?

Our pageant motto is: More than a model, a Role Model. We want to find two young women (Teen + Miss) who represent Texas and Latino women the best way possible. We want two young ladies who are well spoken and not only beautiful on the outside but kind and humble.

Do I have to have experience in order to enter?

Not at all, in fact most of our candidates have never done a pageant before. Our job is to make sure that you are prepared and ready before you step on the stage.

How do I find sponsors to help me pay for this pageant?

We suggest to start with a list of potential sponsors such as friends and family members and their employers.  You will receive a Sponsorship Letter plus your official sash in the mail that certifies you as an official candidate to help you recruit your sponsors. 

If I win, will it interfere with my schooling?

We make school, family and work the number one priority. Almost all of your appearances, events, and charity work will take place during the weekend and will be scheduled in advance.

What's your refund policy?

We have a NO refund policy. No exceptions.

How do my family and friends get tickets to the pageant?

Tickets will be on sale 30 days before the show

What should my family and friends wear to the pageant?

The Miss Texas Latina will be a beautiful, elegant and fun event so dress accordingly
