More than a model, a Role Model
Natalia Castillo
Director and Producer of
Miss Texas Latina
Born and raised in the beautiful South American country of Colombia, Natalia prides herself in her Latin Heritage and cultural traditions. After moving to the United States at the tender age of 18, Natalia received her B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Houston in 2012.
Her friends and colleagues call her a Colombian firecracker with her bubbly personality and also setting sparks in the Fitness and Pageant world as a 3X Ms. Bikini Universe Pro Champion, Model Champion America, Miss Texas Latina 2014, current director of Miss Texas Latina and Founder of Fireyoup movement.
She’s a social connector and female motivator like no other! This powerhouse brings along with her, a wealth of knowledge about Nutrition and Fitness. She definitely knows how to bring the heat on any stage. She is excited and passionate to continue to use her forces to further empower America’s women.
April Rodriguez
Miss Texas Latina
April Rodriguez was born and raised in Fort Worth Texas. She grew up as a first generation Mexican American extremely proud of her culture and heritage. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Business and Political Science with a minor in Real Estate and a certificate in Professional Spanish as a first generation college student. She plans to continue her education at Texas A&M.
Growing up she was around the Western Industry and ranch life which inspired her to join the western fashion world. She is founder of Texas Dressing a western retail brand that wants to make women feel empowered in what they wear. Texas Dressings motto is “Blaze your own trail” and being a Latina owned business in the Fort Worth Stockyards; she is doing just that.
She was Miss Fort Worth Latina 2022, now Miss Texas Latina 2023!
April uses her title and platform to shine a positive light on the Latino Community.
She enjoys giving back to the community by helping feed the homeless with Under the Bridge Ministries (@underthebridgeministries). She also serves as a mentor for young Latinas through Latinas In Progress. She is a development committee member for the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas Fort Worth Chapter; where she helps raise funds for scholarships. She also serves as a Cheer Coach for the local Middle School she attended; she thinks of it as another way to give back to the community.
She is self motivated, dedicated, determined and resilient; truly a force ready to make an impact.
Her mission is to make a positive impact on everyone she comes in contact with and inspire them to do the same
Patricia Obando
Miss Teen Texas Latina
¡Patricia nació y creció en el Cálido y Hermoso país de Venezuela. Siente orgullo al representar la constancia, creencias y valores de la cultura latina. Patricia se mudó a los Estados Unidos junto a su familia a la edad de 12 años como estudiante del 9no grado en middle school. Ahora está en su último año en la Escuela Secundaria James E Taylor y planea obtener su Licenciatura en Leyes en la Universidad de Houston.
Patricia se distingue por su personalidad dulce y alegre. Ha sido atleta de natación desde los 8 años, participando en diferentes campeonatos regionales, nacionales e internacionales con su antiguo Club Delfines de Maria Auxiliadora, su logro más reciente fue pertenecer por tres años
en el Club de Natación de su colegio en donde alcanzó varios reconocimientos individuales en los campeonatos Distritales donde tuvo el orgullo de obtener juntos al equipo de Natación de Taylor High School el título de Campeones en Junior Varsity. En cuanto al modelaje, inicia en este fascinante mundo para vencer su timidez e inseguridades, en el 2022 participó en su primer certamen de belleza, y en el 2023 gano el titulo de Miss Teen Texas Latina. Ha realizado desfiles para marcas locales tales como: Macys, Demi Cruz Studio, Cataleya Showroom, Marissas Bridal y actualmente es estudiante de modelaje en la Academia Jossy Models.
A Patricia le gustaría inspirar a niñas que como ella alguna vez sufrieron baja autoestima y que puedan recibir la ayuda necesaria para aumentar la confianza en sí mismas. Ella quiere hacer conciencia sobre la salud mental y física pero sobretodo Patricia quiere compartir la singularidad de su comunidad latina y la increíble diversidad que esta incluye.
